Er Sha Island

Er Sha IslandEr Sha Island (simplified Chinese: 二沙岛; Er Sha Dao) is an island located between Guangzhou Bridge and Haiyin Bridge of Yuexiu District, at the center of Pearl River. Since the establishment of new China, this island has always been the sports training base of Guangdong province. Now, this island has merged into an elegant cultural art center, sports & entertainment center and a high-grade residential district, featuring "greenness, quietness and beautifulness". The community is favored by expatriates.

It houses the American International School of Guangzhou, several apartment complexes, such as Jinya Garden (金亚花园), Flower City Yuan (花城苑), Hongcheng Garden (宏城花园), Zonglvyuan(新世界棕榈园), New World Riverside Villa (新世界花园) a tennis stadium (Guangdong Tennis Building 广东网球馆), and a government sports training facility (Guangdong Gymnasium 广东体育馆). Er Sha Island is also home to the Guangdong Museum of Art (广东美术馆) and the Xinghai Concert Hall (星海音乐厅).
